“Thanks for helping me unload my stuff, I don’t have alot…I don’t want anything to tie me down. I’m ready to start learning how to take care of…husbandry or whatever you called it. ” stated Jack. He sat down his last box of stuff on the old armchair and turned around ready to start on his new job.
“Hey, there’s no rush. Sit down, why don’t we have some instant coffee. You had the kettle, instant coffee and hot chocolate in the RV. let me scamper over to the main house and I’ll get us some goat’s milk. It was just milked this morning so it’s super fresh. I may not be a fancy barista like you. But, I can make some sort of concoction.” said Ethan. He left Jack sitting in the alone cabin and ran over to the main house, where his Alpha—Evertt lived.
Evertt was there minding the bar like he did everyday. The wayside bar never had many customers but the werewolf pack had to have some way to explain their income and existence so The Well remained most deserted in the middle of nowhere.
“Hey Alpha, I need some milk. My new friend and I are having some coffee.” said Ethan as he went into the bar.
“Interesting man, that new friend of yours…he’s mortal you know.” said Evertt as he loaded dishes into the dishwasher.
“I know Alpha…I just want Jack to stay awhile. He needs help. Jack Bodrum Escort has no pack or family like us. He needs to get back on his feet. If we can’t spare one of the cabins for him…maybe he could live with me. It wouldn’t be any trouble. There are no extra ranch-hands this season and Jack is more than willing to help. So if it isn’t too much trouble, can Jack stay?” questioned Ethan as he pulled some coffee mugs out of the cabinet.
Everett stoped loading the dishwasher and looked squarely at Ethan. “I heard from our sister pack up in Saskatchewan. Seems they have a female…a nice lady about your age who is looking for a mate. Her name is Samantha…Sally, Sophie some S name. What would you think if she spent about a month or two down here? You two could get to know each other…it would be good for both our packs, have some new pups running around here…you know what I mean. Ethan…right? Questioned Evertt.
“I guess…Alpha. This woman can come down and stay. We can show her a good time. So can Jack work here for the season? Please?” questioned Ethan. Right now, he was really indifferent to the woman. He also knew that if Evertt wanted the woman to come down, he’d really have no say in it.
“I don’t know about this Jack, you said he doesn’t know anything about husbandry. Bodrum Escort Bayan I wouldn’t want us to get behind. How do I know he’ll be any good?” questioned Evertt, still looking dubsiouly at Ethan. He’d always liked Ethan’s mother Tannen, he’d made a promise as an Alpha that he’d take care of Ethan, treat him like his own son. When Ethan was young, Everett had kept that promise but now Ethan was older. It was time for him to be a proper werewolf. He should find himself a true mate, get married and have pups. Ethan should at least give this girl from Canada a chance.
He was about to say no. This Jack was a stranger, who had hit Ethan with his car, and he knew nothing about husbandry. But, his true mate Lorraine spoke up.
“Sweetheart, let Ethan’s friend stay. What’s the worst that can happen? It’s been too long since we had a guest. This man won’t harm our pack. He seems very honest and I’m sure he’s hardworking. He came back to check on Ethan. I say we let him stay.” said Lorraine. She came around the bar and hugged her husband tightly.
Everett had finished unloading the dishwasher. He looked up in frustration at the ceiling. Still, what was the worst that could happen? Everett was the Alpha he could always kick Jack out. Everett knew he couldn’t fight both Ethan Escort Bodrum and his wife.
“Fine…alright. This Jack can stay for awhile. But, if anything goes wrong…I’m going to kick him out. He’ll never come back…understand Ethan? Oh, and that girl from Saskatchewan is going to come down. I expect you to be a gentleman and show her a good time. It’ll be for the good of the pack. Understand?” questioned Evertt sternly. He hoped that Ethan was smart enough to know that he was implying that he had an obligation to the pack.
Ethan was smart enough to understand what his Alpha was saying. He’d been raised to know that pack came first and yourself came second. He had no choice but to obey or be an outcast. Ethan longed for the day when he could be his true self but didn’t know when that could be.
“Yes, Alpha…I’ll take her out, maybe the pack can have a barbeque or something like that. Whatever it takes to show this Canadian woman a good time. We want her to be impressed. I’m going to go back and talk to Jack some more. See you later” stated Ethan as he left the lodge.
After, Ethan had left, Everett turned around and looked at his wife. “Kids today…” he said.
Lorraine shrugged. “Just let his friend stay for the season. What’s the worst that can happen?
Everett said nothing. His Alpha senses told him that big changes were coming to his pack. He couldn’t tell what. He knew he’d just have to wait it out and see. He’d give Jack a chance. For, now Jack could stay— for better or worse.
